The work «Double slit experiment» is the double sided painting: tempera on gesso, golden background, wooden panel. It depicts professor A.Zeilinger, who develops an experiment showing the wave particle duality of the structure of the light.
To show that the light is a particle and a wave at the same time at the same place, I decided to make my painting double-sided, where the two sides mirror each other with a small change of subject. This method helps me to avoid the sequence of events, inherent to a diptych and lets me unite two subjects in one work. One of the theories, related to this experiment and considered by the scientists, speaks about the existence of additional dimensions. Interestingly, as an artist, to create this work, I also had to exit the two dimensional space of painting and add a third dimension to my composition.
